So me and the GF went to Vegas to meet up with some old college friends. Since Exotics Racing is there I now am required to visit them each and every time I go.

First time I went there I drove the SLS AMG and it was fucking amazing. I was hooked.

Kinja'd!!!

So this time I was going back and needed to step up my game a bit. I put it to an Oppo vote and everyone said I should drive the Ferrari 458 instead of the Lamborghini Gallardo Supperleggera. I decided not to listen and went with the Lamborghini. Because it's ridiculous. The gf went with the McLaren MP4-12C, excellent choice, but it's limited to just 5 laps; I wanted 11 (10 + 1 since I had been before and got a free lap).

So we show up and since the McLaren is a handful, the guy talks us into getting the gf 5 laps in the Audi R8 V10 for $100 less than normal. We take the deal since I know it will take her a bit to getting used to thrashing a car of this caliber.

We do the whole pre-race talk (which is pretty annoying now, the guys have the lines and the voices down now, it doesn't seem as serious, whatever) and then get her signed up for her Audi laps. We walk around, get her in the Aston and take some pics, then she's ready for the Audi.

She's super short, so the seat was pulled all the way forward. Luckily the steering wheel comes out too. Luckily she got an instructor who has 25+ years of racing experience and happens to be incredibly patient. He continued to talk to the both of us about how to race properly for a while, awesome guy.

Her laps in the Audi were pretty slow, but as long as she enjoyed herself, that's all that matters.

Luckily when she got out of the car, she was hooked. She loved every second of it and talked about how she needed to find a job good enough to afford one of these cars (she's a teacher...so...yeah not happenin right now).

We decided that she would take a break and I would go next in the Lamborghini Gallardo Supperleggera LP570-4. Longest name.......................................... in the world.

My face the entire time.

So since I had gone before in the SLS, I figured I would have a good handle on things. I didn't think the Lambo could feel much different than the SLS. Boy was I wrong.

The SLS is a true Sporty - GT car. The Lamborghini Gallardo Supperleggera is a go-kart with 570 bhp. The first thing I noticed was the steering response. Not quite as hard as a go-kart, but not far off.

Next thing I noticed was the acceleration. Holy shit.

This thing ate the tarmac like it was a small snack. Every corner came incredibly quick. I admittedly could have had my racing lines down better, but the Gallardo still gave me an excellent fastest lap. By the end I had the lines down almost perfect and managed to cut 2 seconds off my fastest time in the SLS. I managed a respectable 58 second lap time.

Here I am entering "ludicrous speed" down the main straight.

By the end of it my arms were a bit tired, but holy crap I felt the adrenaline surging through my body. I was shaky for a bit.

Kinja'd!!!

As I prevented my erection from forming, my gf was up again, this time for the McLaren.

She did much better in the McLaren and took off 5 seconds her Audi R8 time.

Now she is hooked, I am hooked, and we want to do every car they have eventually. Awesome.

Now have some more car-porn.

When I played tennis in high school, my doubles partner's mom would always cheer me on by saying "go chicken legs!". I have tried...my stick legs are quite stubborn at changing.

Went there few years back went around in the Superleggera. Couldn't drive it. Still had one of the best days of my life. Can't wait to go back and actually drive!

Why couldn't you drive it? Head-room issue? I had about 2 inches of space with their "short" helmet...

Sound like fun! I recently rode in a Gallardo LP560. It grips so well, and the acceleration is phenomenal. But even the Gallardo can't match the feeling of a 600HP Viper ACR at full throttle.

I would love to get a chance to drive/ride-in an ACR. I would imagine it would be so much more brutish. How'd you manage that?

We were at a track day and while everyone was getting ready for their recon laps I was wandering the pits (No license, can't drive) then the track day organizer came up and asked if I wanted a ride in his Viper while everyone was on their recon laps. When we pulled out of the pits he floored in it second and the sense of acceleration was so different than anything else.

Definitely made the right choice. Lamborghini is more of a driver's car, less electronic aides.

Hey now. That's only because I had to wear coveralls for work whenever I was outside. Give me a month and I can look like I hail from Mexico. Also I don't live in Vegas...
